How to get there
- Choose the Text tool
. The Text menu appears. - Select the
handleA small square which appears on currently "selectable" elements in the score. Handles allow you to select, edit and adjust musical elements in the score. of a page number insertText inserts allow you to share the same text information on multiple pages (such as a title or part name) or easily add characters with special properties (like page numbers or musical symbols) without manually entering information. Create inserts using the Text > Inserts submenu.. If there is not a page number insert on the page, see To add a page number.
- Select Text > Edit Page Offset.
What it does
The Page Offset dialog box allows you to enter a number to add to Finale’s current page number. See Page numbers.
- Add to Current Page Number. If each movement of a piece has its own dedicated file, the numbering for the first page of the new file must be adjusted to compensate for other movements. For example, if the movement starts on page 5, enter 4 in the text box (page 1 of the current file, plus 4 pages offset). To number pages using the current page number (Finale’s page number), do not change the Page Offset number (it should be zero).
